Purposes:
1. To provide a long-term forestland allocation and management planning through survey and mapping, forest land use planning (FLUP), watershed characterization and vulnerability assessment.
2. To mitigate soil erosion in the sub-project areas to retain/improve soil productivity and sustainability and eventually mitigate sedimentation damage both within and downstream of the sub-project areas.
3. To provide improved protection from floods by mitigating flood peaks and providing increased and prolonged base flow both within and downstream of the sub-project areas.
4. To provide quality water for both on and off-site beneficiaries.
5. To increase economic value of natural resources in the sub-project areas.
6. To promote collaborative development and management of natural resources within and downstream of the sub-watersheds for the highest and widest public benefits of the various stakeholders.
7. To mainstream collaborative arrangement for disaster management in vulnerable areas of the sub-project.
8. To contribute in climate change mitigation through enhancement of afforestation/reforestation and biofuel production.
9. To increase the income of the upland stakeholders through participation in CSD activities and provision of livelihood opportunities.
10. To enhance the stakeholders' technical and managerial capabilities.
11. To encourage private investment through enterprise partnership.
12. To enhance participation and capacities of local major stakeholders as a strategy in building partnership.
